THE REGION

Our wine-cellar is located in Casciano, in the municipality of Murlo, Etruscan-land. Recognized for its courteous tourism and charming towns and villages, reminiscent of the history and delights of good food and wine.

A region ideally suited to the joys of wine-making and good-living. A radiant stretch of rolling-hills, flanked by the sea and the Apennines, where uniqueness is expressed in the harmony of the landscape.

Our vines border the region of Montalcino and share the same “ideal soil conditions” for the production of Sangiovese. The area of Murlo is exposed to the prolonged, beneficial influence of the sea, which opens to the west, where the rolling-hills start to slope gently downhill.

In our region, the soil is of medium textured, tending towards clay, with a plentiful gravel-pebble/stone mixture – perfect for the cultivation of Sangiovese.

THE VINEYARDS

Arizzi, located in the municipality of Murlo, have 20 hectares at their disposal on which they cultivate vines with considerable care and attention.

Nestled between the mountains with a steadfast gaze towards the sea, the vineyard enjoys a yielding climate in winter and moderate heat in summer. A fact, which is not only a privilege, but serves to explain the excellent maturity of the region’s vines.

THE WINE-CELLAR

We produce Sangiovese and Merlot wines because our terrain is especially rich in clay, ideal to obtain the best in terms of yield and refined taste.

In the wine-cellar we strive to preserve and enhance the quality potential of the grapes; the technologies we employ, serve only to guarantee the integrity of the evolutionary process itself, without modifying it.

To achieve this we control the temperature to preserve the aromatic-virtues of our wines.

REFINEMENT

We have chosen to use large oak-barrels so that our wines encounter this natural substance on their journey towards dignified taste and aroma. Only the use of large barrels simplify this enhancement process and give ample reverence to the fruits of our region.
